Manual
Full reference for the NetCrafter Live editor window. Open it from Tools → Pivec Labs → NetCrafter Live.
The window has exactly two tabs, in a plain sidebar — no schema/Definition system, no code generation, nothing to select before you can use either tab.
Relay Settings#
The single, project-wide source of TURN/rendezvous connection details — not per-scene, per-schema, or per-component. Every NetCrafterLiveConnection and NetCrafterLiveBroadcast in your project reads the same asset (Assets/PivecLabs/NetCrafterLive/RelaySettings.asset, created automatically the first time you open this tab).
| Field | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Relay Host | (empty — required) | Your self-hosted coturn TURN/STUN endpoint. No default; NetCrafter Live does not ship with or point at any Pivec Labs-hosted relay. See Server Deployment Guide. |
| Relay Port | 3478 | TURN default port |
| Rendezvous URL | (empty — required) | Your self-hosted join-code → host relayed-address lookup service. No default; see Server Deployment Guide. A bare host:port works fine — http:// is filled in automatically at runtime if you leave it off. |
| TURN Username | netcrafter-live | Must match turnserver.conf's user= entry on your server. |
| Shared Secret | (empty — required) | Must match turnserver.conf's long-term credential (lt-cred-mech + user=<TURN Username>:<Shared Secret>). Treat as a low-value credential, not a real password. |
Left blank, both Relay Host and Rendezvous URL show a warning and any connection attempt fails with a clear error rather than a silent hang.
Save Settings / Reset to Defaults buttons are there for convenience — every field also auto-saves on edit, the same way any other Inspector-serialized field would, so you don't lose changes by forgetting to click Save.
If you ran the Server Setup Wizard, you never need to touch this tab directly — the wizard's Finish step writes all five fields here for you from a real, verified server deploy.
Server Setup Wizard#
Generates the exact commands to set up your own coturn + rendezvous server. You copy each command into your own terminal, run it, and paste the output back — the wizard parses that output to confirm each step actually succeeded before unlocking the next one.
This tool never connects to your server itself. No SSH library, no credentials typed into or stored by Unity, ever — your terminal and your own SSH auth do all of the actual connecting.
Six steps:
- Target — host, SSH port, username. Advanced overrides available (TURN realm, TURN username, rendezvous port, relay port range, public/private IP) if you need to override auto-detection.
- Pre-flight — a read-only OS/architecture compatibility check.
- Detect — a read-only scan for an existing coturn/rendezvous install on the box, branching into one of: fresh install, co-install alongside an existing NetCrafter Relay setup, an existing NetCrafter Live install (update or abort — never silently overwritten), or ambiguous (won't guess, asks you to check by hand).
- Deploy — runs the actual installer (
install-live-server.sh) with the right flags for whichever branch Detect found. The TURN shared secret is always generated by the wizard itself and passed in explicitly, never left for the installer to generate. - Verify — a real join-code round trip and TURN auth check, not just "is the process running."
- Finish — parses the deploy output's credentials block and writes it directly into Relay Settings above. Nothing to copy-paste by hand.
